Measuring biodiversity for business (SNIS)

The importance of biodiversity and its pivotal role in business are gaining increasing attention. In a SNIS funded study (2021-2023), entitled “Unblocking the flow of biodiversity data for multi-stakeholder environmental sustainability management”, partnering with UNIL, the University of Ghana, and the Humbolt Institute in Colombia, we sought to understand diverse needs of biodiversity data users across sectors, identify the reasons behind blockages to data flow and access, and help integrate mainstream biodiversity data into decision making and halt biodiversity loss. We continue to build on this work by seeking to identify a measurement framework of biodiversity for business.
