This completed research project ran from 01.08.2020 to 31.01.2023 and examined the economic and social impacts of collective emotions, emotional contagion, and pandemic-induced fear during COVID-19 using media trace data and satellite-based remote sensing. It delivered an open-access global early warning platform for policymakers and health officials and comprised three work packages on pandemic communication, emotional contagion and compliance, and near real-time epidemic tracking.
